Back to...
Posted: August 5, 2021
August is back to school, for kids, for young adults off to college, and for some parents who always look forward to the end of summer and a more regular routine. This August was also supposed to be back to normal, letting kids go to school without masks – or go to school period – and for some to go back to more normal job experiences.
Most kids are going back to school and college, thank goodness. The challenges presented by the coronavirus impacted so many of us in so many ways, not least in the isolation and lack of structure experienced by so many people. Our overall mental and physical health has taken a real beating.
But while many of us won’t be going back to “normal,” whatever that was, August is still a time when we can more easily think of new beginnings. Our brains like significant dates to attach goals to. Those of us with children often make plans to include exercise time in the new schedule. Thinking about packing lunches might make some think about making healthier eating choices.
This month Whole and Holy is going to focus on new beginnings. We have our own new beginnings, and we’re very excited to begin sharing them with you.
The first is our new Chambersburg office. Susan can now be found at 166 South Main Street, in historic Kerrtown Square. The office is almost complete, and she’s excited to be returning to more in person sessions (with appropriate COVID-19 precautions).
Other new beginnings include bringing new therapists into the practice, who will enrich our community and provide new expertise and experience.
What won’t change is our holistic focus – mind, body, spirit, and community.
I heard a speaker today challenging her audience to think about how to live intentionally, purposefully, rather than accidentally. If you want the book of your life to read a certain way at the end, what do you need to be doing now? That’s a choice, she says, you can make no matter what your circumstances.
Our passion is to help persons heal and become whole. Our intentions and new beginnings keep that goal first.
What about you? What new beginnings can you envision?
If you’d like to find out more about our holistic focus or how we can help you with some new beginnings, simply message us on social media or through our website. We’d love to chat.
