Walk and Talk Therapy

Sitting in even the nicest office might feel intimidating or confining.

Sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone when you are walking together.

We can take your therapy outdoors. Movement and nature help relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and traumatic stress. By taking advantage of nearby parks and trails, we get the benefits of fresh air and physical movement. Often it becomes easier to release feelings or think outside the box.

Things to know about walk and talk therapy:

Currently, Susan Stewart, LMFT offers walk and talk sessions in Chambersburg or Shippensburg.

Walk and talk sessions are self-pay only.

If you are scheduled for an outdoor session and the weather is inclement, you may choose to have the session in the office or virtually instead.

Limited mobility? You may still be able to participate in walk and talk therapy. Many walking areas offer accessible paths or seating areas. Please contact us with questions about concerns.
